  • Crude Oil Pipeline Construction – Provided expert reports and deposition testimony on behalf of crude oil pipeline construction contractor in support of breach of contract claims made by owner. Conducted evaluation of contractor performance under a reimbursable target price contract including impact of right of-way delays, scope changes, and weather delays.
  • Gas Processing Plant Dispute – Prepared expert reports and testified in Australian arbitration on behalf of EPC contractor involved in engineering and construction of offshore platform, sub-sea pipelines, and onshore gas processing plant. Issues involved impact of change to feedstock design basis as well as numerous engineering and construction related defect claims made by owner.
  • Gas Plant Construction – On behalf of mechanical subcontractor, provided expert opinions as to claims and counterclaims against contractor related to construction of new gas processing plant in South Texas. Claims involved contract not-to-exceed provision as well as cost overruns and delays associated with late engineering, unexpected site conditions, late delivery of materials, scope changes, quantity growth, and rework.
  • Power Plant Development Engineering – Led development engineering for a 1,200 MW gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Oklahoma. Developed complete EPC Scope Book, negotiated EPC contract, and managed a ten-mile water pipeline project, transmission and two major natural gas interconnections. Supported project efforts to secure project financing, special use zoning approval, and air and water permits.
  • Pipeline Construction Project – Project Manager for $80 million 36-inch pipeline looping project in Southeast Michigan. Responsible for regulatory testimony, scope of work development, selection and management of engineering-procurement-construction management firm (EPCM), and capital budget and construction schedule preparation.
  • Midstream Technical and Commercial Review – Assisted private equity firm with due diligence and evaluation of potential investment of $400 million in new midstream assets in the Permian Basin. Evaluated long term agreements with producer and interim agreement with a third party to secure temporary midstream services. Reviewed financial model of proposed facilities, cost estimates and capacity of proposed crude oil and gas gathering systems, and gas processing capacity versus volume forecasts.
